THROUGH-THE-LENS CAMERA PROMPTERS

Through-the-lens prompters are used during film and video shoots when it is necessary for on-camera talent to look straight into the lens of the camera and deliver lines. This type of prompter system can be set up on its own stand (for use during static shots) or mounted directly to the camera plate (for use during moving shots, including most work involving a dolly or jib arm). They can also be set up off-camera for “interview” style work.

Presidential Speech Prompters

Presidential prompters look like glass music stands placed at each corner of a lectern. When standing at the lectern, a speaker is able to read his speech from both glass panels while maintaining eye contact with the audience. Although the audience may notice the glass panels, they cannot see the words. If the event is being filmed, the prompter panels can usually be framed out of the camera shot.

Specialty Through-the-Lens Camera Prompters

For certain situations—including all outdoor shoots and many jib and dolly shots—DC Prompters recommends the use of our QTV FDP-12 High-Bright Prompter. This lightweight, flat-panel prompter is designed for easy readability during your most demanding television and film shoots.
